The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, in collaboration with the Vishwa Ayurved Parishad organised a national seminar at the AIIA campus to mark the 11th Ayurveda Day. The event brought together prominent academics, Ayurveda experts, researchers and students to deliberate on India’s rich Ayurvedic knowledge tradition, scientific research, education and the growing global relevance of Ayurveda.
The seminar provided a platform for discussions on strengthening Ayurveda through evidence-based approaches, academic collaboration, research and wider knowledge exchange. Experts highlighted the importance of connecting the traditional knowledge system with contemporary scientific perspectives to expand its contribution to healthcare and global wellbeing.
Eminent Experts Participate in National Seminar
Prof. Banwari Lal Gaur, former Vice-Chancellor of Rajasthan University, Jaipur, attended the programme as the chief guest. The event was also attended by senior members of AIIA and the Vishwa Ayurved Parishad.
Among those present were Prof. (Vaidya) P.K. Prajapati, Director, AIIA; Prof. (Dr.) Manjusha Rajgopal, Dean, DU; Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Vyas, Dean, Ph.D.; Prof. (Dr.) R.K. Yadav, Dean, PG; and Dr. Yogesh Badwe, MS. Senior faculty members and representatives associated with AIIA and the Vishwa Ayurved Parishad also participated in the programme.
Prof. Y.C. Mishra, National Organising Secretary of the Vishwa Ayurved Parishad, attended the seminar as the guest of honour.
The programme featured participation from several leading figures associated with Ayurveda education, regulation, research and clinical practice. Prof. Sunil Joshi, former Vice-Chancellor of Uttarakhand Ayurveda University; Dr. Raghuram Bhat U., former President of the Medical Assessment and Rating Board for Indian System of Medicine, NCISM, New Delhi; and Prof. Dr. K.K. Dwivedi of NCISM were among the distinguished participants.
Other speakers and guests included Shri Ramdas Avhad, founder of Avhad Ayurvedic Multispeciality Panchakarma Hospital, Nashik; Dr. Girish K.J., Professor and Vice-Principal, Patanjali Indian Institute of Medical Science and Research, Haridwar; Prof. (Dr.) Manu Bhai Gaur, Director-Principal, Chaudhary Brahm Prakash Ayurved Charak Sansthan, New Delhi; Prof. Sujata Rajan, Principal (Ayurveda), Ayurvedic and Unani Tibbia College and Hospital, New Delhi; and Dr. Durga Prasad from Dabur India.
E-Souvenir of Vishwa Ayurved Parishad Conference Released
A key highlight of the programme was the release of the e-souvenir of the national conference of the Vishwa Ayurved Parishad.
The publication brings together material highlighting Ayurveda’s extensive knowledge heritage, contemporary research, scientific perspectives and its growing national and international outreach. The e-souvenir is intended to showcase important developments and discussions surrounding Ayurveda while reflecting the increasing emphasis on research and scientific approaches within the traditional system.
AIIA and Vishwa Ayurved Parishad Sign MoU
Another significant development during the programme was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between AIIA, New Delhi, and the Vishwa Ayurved Parishad.
The agreement is aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two institutions in areas including academic activities, research, knowledge exchange, training and promotion of Ayurveda. The partnership is expected to provide a broader platform for collaboration and support initiatives connected with education, research and the dissemination of Ayurvedic knowledge.
The MoU marks an important step towards bringing institutions and experts together to encourage structured academic engagement and knowledge sharing in the field of Ayurveda.
Students Present Research Papers and Posters
Students also took an active part in the national seminar through paper and poster presentations. They presented their academic work and research on different subjects related to Ayurveda before experts and senior faculty members.

The presentations provided students with an opportunity to share their research findings, discuss their ideas and engage with experienced professionals. Their participation added an academic and research-oriented dimension to the programme.
The seminar ultimately underlined the need to preserve Ayurveda’s traditional knowledge while promoting research, education and scientific inquiry. By bringing together senior experts, academics and students, the event created a platform for discussion on how Ayurveda can be further strengthened and positioned within contemporary healthcare and global health.
The national seminar, organised as part of the 11th Ayurveda Day celebrations, thus highlighted the growing importance of collaboration, research, education and knowledge exchange in advancing Ayurveda in India and internationally.
