India’s preparations for the 11th Ayurveda Day 2026 have gathered significant momentum, with thousands of activities being organised across the country and growing participation from citizens, educational institutions, communities and organisations. The nationwide observance, scheduled for September 23, is being held under the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow.”
According to the Press Information Bureau (PIB), more than 9,700 activities have been reported across 30 States and Union Territories, highlighting the extensive public engagement surrounding this year’s Ayurveda Day celebrations. More than 3.6 lakh participants have registered through the official Ayurveda Day platform, while nearly 89.3 lakh citizens have pledged their support for Ayurveda through the 2026 microsite.
Nationwide Participation Expands Ahead of September 23
The growing participation comes as India prepares to mark Ayurveda Day through a broad range of awareness, wellness and community-based initiatives.
The official Ayurveda Day 2026 microsite has been developed as a digital platform where citizens and organisations can participate, register activities and report programmes being conducted as part of the celebrations. This digital engagement has helped create a common platform for participation across different parts of the country.
States such as Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have recorded substantial participation, according to the PIB release. The engagement reflects the involvement of State and Union Territory-level institutions in taking Ayurveda-related awareness activities to communities.
Awareness, Wellness and Community Activities
The celebrations are not limited to a single type of programme. A variety of initiatives are being conducted to increase public awareness about Ayurveda and encourage greater community involvement.

Among the reported activities are Ayurveda awareness programmes, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) initiatives, public outreach programmes and Ayurveda health and wellness camps. These programmes are aimed at creating opportunities for people to learn more about Ayurveda and its role in health and wellness.
Other activities include medicinal plant plantation and conservation drives, awareness programmes in schools and colleges, youth-focused initiatives and campaigns promoting Ayurveda Ahara and healthy dietary practices.
Citizen pledge campaigns and Ayurveda quizzes are also forming part of the nationwide programme. Together, these initiatives are bringing citizens, students, educational institutions, communities and various organisations into the celebrations.
Nearly 89.3 Lakh Citizens Pledge Support
One of the notable participation figures this year is the number of citizens who have pledged their support for Ayurveda.
Nearly 89.3 lakh people have made pledges through the Ayurveda Day 2026 microsite. The figure indicates the scale of citizen engagement being recorded ahead of the September 23 observance.

These figures represent participation recorded through the official Ayurveda Day platforms and provide an indication of the scale of activities being undertaken ahead of the annual observance.
Ayurveda Day Celebrations Gain International Reach
The 11th Ayurveda Day celebrations have also extended beyond India’s borders. According to the PIB, activities have been reported from 10 countries and territories, involving more than 1,900 participants.
The participating locations include the British Indian Ocean Territory, United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Spain, Algeria, Australia, Denmark, Iceland and the United States of America.
The international participation adds a global dimension to this year’s Ayurveda Day activities, with communities, institutions and organisations outside India taking part in programmes focused on Ayurveda awareness, wellness and public engagement.
Focus on a Healthier Tomorrow
The theme of the 11th Ayurveda Day — “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow” — places emphasis on the broader role of Ayurveda in health and wellness awareness.
With activities spanning schools, colleges, communities and public outreach platforms, the celebrations are creating multiple avenues for citizens to participate. Medicinal plant conservation, healthy dietary practices, wellness camps and educational initiatives are among the activities contributing to this year’s programme.
As September 23 approaches, the scale of participation demonstrates the extensive public engagement being recorded for Ayurveda Day 2026. With thousands of activities across India and participation from countries and territories abroad, the 11th edition is bringing together citizens and institutions around awareness, wellness and the continuing public engagement with Ayurveda.
