A special critical session on Dr. Khalid Mubashir’s two books, “Apni Si Taabeerein” and “Tanqeedi Tafaaul-o-Taamull”, turned into a serious academic and literary dialogue, with scholars and critics examining the literary, research and critical dimensions of the works from different perspectives.
A special critical session and discussion on Dr. Khalid Mubashir’s two books,”Apni Si Taabeerein” and “Tanqeedi Tafaaul-o-Taamull”, was organised at the Nehru Guest House, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. The programme was attended by teachers, researchers, critics, writers and scholars associated with Urdu literature.
The programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Abdul Rahman Abid, followed by welcome remarks by Safir Siddiqui.
Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman presented a paper on “Tanqeedi Tafaaul-o-Taamull”, examining almost all the major essays included in the book and highlighting the author’s critical approach and views on various literary subjects.
Dr. Zahid Nadeem Ahsan also presented a paper on the same book. Through an in-depth reading of most of the essays, he highlighted their important aspects and examined the author’s critical methodology.
Dr. Faizan Shahid presented a paper on “Apni Si Taabeerein”, selecting three essays from the collection for detailed analysis. Dr. Adil Hayat presented a comprehensive paper on both books, analytically examining significant essays and highlighting their literary and critical dimensions. Dr. Naseeb Khan also presented his views on the books.
Literary Personalities Attend
Noted writer and editor of two literary journals, Saifi Sarvanji, who specially attended the programme from Sarvanj, congratulated Dr. Khalid Mubashir on the publication of the two books and appreciated his scholarly and literary efforts.
Assistant Editor Astuti Agrawal also attended the programme and shared her views on Dr. Khalid Mubashir and his books.
Professor Tasneem Fatima recalled her long-standing association with Dr. Khalid Mubashir and praised both books. She appreciated his academic and literary activities and encouraged him to continue his writing and bring out more books.
The programme was conducted by Asif Bilal, who invited Professor Kausar Mazhari to speak. Professor Mazhari described the event as more than a mere book launch, calling it a serious academic and literary seminar. He also highlighted the scholarly personality and erudition of Khalid Mahmood and congratulated Dr. Khalid Mubashir on the publication of his books.
Books Released by Khalid Mahmood
The two books were formally released by Dr. Khalid Mubashir’s teacher, Khalid Mahmood, former Professor of Urdu. Dr. Khalid Mubashir spoke warmly about his long-standing academic relationship with his teacher and recalled the affection, guidance and encouragement he had received from him.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Khalid Mubashir thanked the guests, speakers and participants for attending the programme. He also expressed his gratitude to several guests individually and spoke about his relationship with his teacher, Khalid Mahmood.
Publisher Abdul Samad was also invited to the stage. He spoke about his association with Dr. Khalid Mubashir and highlighted the role of M.R. Publications in the promotion of Urdu literature.
Special Address by Akhtar-ul-Wasey
The chief guest, Padma Shri Professor Akhtar-ul-Wasey, began his address with an invocation of God and spoke about his long-standing association with the Urdu language. He reviewed selected essays from both books and highlighted their scholarly and literary dimensions.
Towards the conclusion, Asif Bilal invited the presiding guest, Professor Shahpar Rasool, to address the gathering. Professor Shahpar Rasool thanked the guests, speakers and participants for their presence.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Naveed Yusuf, who expressed gratitude to all the guests, speakers and participants.
The session provided an opportunity for scholars and literary figures to engage with Dr. Khalid Mubashir’s two books from diverse perspectives, turning the occasion into a meaningful academic and critical discussion on his literary and scholarly contributions.
