The United States carried out another wave of airstrikes on Iran, with explosions reported near the northwestern city of Tabriz and the southern coastal region of Sirik. The latest operation marks the 11th consecutive night of American military action, underscoring the continuing escalation between Washington and Tehran despite ongoing diplomatic efforts through regional mediators.

Explosions Reported in Multiple Iranian Regions

According to Iranian media reports, powerful explosions were heard around Tabriz in East Azerbaijan province as well as in Sirik, located in Hormozgan province along the Persian Gulf. Residents reported loud blasts during the night, although Iranian authorities did not immediately release a detailed assessment of casualties or damage.

The strikes reportedly targeted military infrastructure, including aircraft hangars and drone-related facilities. The attacks are believed to be part of a broader American campaign aimed at reducing Iran’s military capabilities and limiting threats to international shipping routes in the region.

US Military Focuses on Strategic Military Targets

US Central Command said the latest operation concentrated on facilities associated with Iran’s drone programme and military aviation. Officials have maintained that the campaign is designed to weaken Iran’s ability to launch attacks against US forces and commercial shipping operating near the Strait of Hormuz.

American military officials have repeatedly stated that the strikes are intended to protect regional stability and safeguard international maritime traffic rather than seek a wider conflict. The campaign has now continued for nearly two weeks, making it one of the longest sustained US air operations against Iran in recent years.

Iran Condemns the Attacks

Iranian authorities strongly condemned the latest airstrikes, describing them as violations of its sovereignty. State media reported that air defence systems were activated in several locations following the attacks.

While officials acknowledged explosions in affected areas, they did not immediately confirm the full extent of damage to military installations. Tehran has consistently accused Washington of escalating tensions instead of pursuing diplomatic solutions.

Iran has also maintained that its military remains capable of responding to continued attacks despite repeated strikes on strategic facilities.

Diplomatic Efforts Continue Despite Fighting

Even as military operations continue, diplomatic channels have not been completely shut. Reports indicate that indirect communication between US and Iranian officials is still taking place through regional intermediaries.

However, the continued exchange of military action has overshadowed attempts to revive negotiations. Analysts believe the latest strikes may further complicate any immediate prospects for de-escalation.

International observers have expressed concern that continued hostilities could draw more countries into the crisis and threaten stability across the Middle East.

Impact on Regional Security

The conflict has significantly affected security across the Gulf region. The Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s busiest energy corridors, remains under close international watch as tensions continue to rise.

Repeated military operations have raised concerns over the safety of commercial shipping and global energy supplies. Oil markets have remained sensitive to developments, with traders closely monitoring any disruption to maritime traffic.

Several regional governments have increased security measures while urging restraint from both Washington and Tehran to avoid a broader regional conflict.

International Concern Grows

Global leaders continue to call for restraint as fears mount over the possibility of further escalation. The United Nations and several international governments have urged both sides to pursue dialogue and avoid actions that could expand the conflict.

Security experts warn that sustained military operations increase the risk of miscalculation, particularly in strategically important areas such as the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.

With no immediate breakthrough in diplomatic efforts, the situation remains highly volatile, and observers expect both military and political developments to shape the next phase of the crisis.
