The Kingdom of Bahrain has strongly condemned what it described as Iranian attacks targeting both Bahrain and Kuwait, warning that such actions threaten regional peace and stability and violate international law. Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the latest missile and drone strikes represented a dangerous escalation in the Gulf and reaffirmed the kingdom’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and national security.
In an official statement issued on Saturday, Bahrain denounced the attacks as a direct violation of the sovereignty of Bahrain and Kuwait. The ministry emphasized that repeated military actions against neighboring countries undermine efforts to reduce tensions and create an atmosphere of instability across the region. It stressed that security and peace cannot be achieved through military aggression, missile attacks, drones, or threats against civilian populations.
The statement came after renewed hostilities in the Gulf, during which Iran reportedly launched missiles and drones toward Bahrain and Kuwait. Bahraini authorities activated emergency measures, while defense systems remained on high alert. Kuwait also reported interceptions of incoming projectiles and condemned the attacks as a serious breach of its sovereignty.
Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry declared that the kingdom remains committed to regional peace but warned that patience should not be mistaken for weakness. The ministry stated that safeguarding the lives of citizens, residents, and critical infrastructure remains a top priority and that Bahrain reserves the right to take all necessary measures to defend itself in accordance with international law.
The kingdom also expressed solidarity with Kuwait, describing the security of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states as interconnected and indivisible. Bahraini officials reiterated their support for Kuwait’s efforts to protect its territory and praised the readiness of Kuwaiti defense forces in responding to the attacks. Kuwait, in turn, issued a statement condemning what it called Iranian aggression against Bahrain and reaffirmed its support for fellow GCC members.
According to Bahraini authorities, the attacks not only threaten the security of individual states but also jeopardize broader regional stability. Officials argued that military escalation risks disrupting international shipping routes, trade, and civilian movement throughout the Gulf. Bahrain called on the international community to take a firm stance against actions that endanger peace and violate internationally recognized norms governing relations between sovereign states.
The Bahraini government further emphasized that genuine security can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to international law. In its statement, the Foreign Ministry remarked that “security is not built with missiles and drones,” underscoring its view that military coercion cannot serve as the foundation for lasting peace. The ministry also warned that stability cannot be preserved through intimidation or actions that threaten neighboring nations.
Recent weeks have witnessed heightened tensions in the Gulf region, with several incidents involving missile and drone attacks. Bahraini officials have repeatedly condemned such actions and have urged all parties to avoid measures that could further escalate the conflict. The kingdom has consistently advocated diplomatic solutions while maintaining a high level of military preparedness to defend its territory and citizens.
Bahrain also highlighted the importance of ensuring safe maritime navigation and protecting civilian interests amid ongoing regional tensions. Officials called for coordinated international efforts to preserve stability and prevent further deterioration of the security situation.
As diplomatic efforts continue, Bahrain reaffirmed its commitment to regional cooperation and peaceful coexistence, while maintaining that any threat to its sovereignty or the security of its Gulf neighbors would be met with appropriate measures consistent with international law.
