AYODHYA: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has accepted the resignation of its General Secretary, Champat Rai, marking a significant leadership transition for the body responsible for overseeing the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The Trust also accepted the resignation of trustee Anil Mishra during a key meeting held on Monday. Following the decision, Krishna Mohan has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of serving as the interim General Secretary until a permanent arrangement is made.

The development comes at a time when the Trust has been facing scrutiny over allegations related to the handling of temple donations. The leadership reshuffle is being viewed as an important administrative step aimed at ensuring continuity in the functioning of the Trust while ongoing inquiries continue.

Resignations Follow Donation Controversy

The resignations come in the backdrop of an alleged donation embezzlement case linked to the Ram Temple’s donation collection system. The controversy has triggered investigations by authorities and has drawn widespread public and political attention over the past several days.

Although investigations into the alleged irregularities are continuing, the Trust has not publicly attributed the acceptance of the resignations to any findings of wrongdoing. Officials have maintained that due process is being followed while law enforcement agencies continue their probe into the allegations.

Krishna Mohan Takes Interim Charge

To ensure that the Trust’s day-to-day operations continue without disruption, Krishna Mohan has been assigned the role of interim General Secretary. The Trust indicated that this is an interim administrative arrangement while it considers future appointments.

Krishna Mohan is expected to oversee routine administrative functions, coordinate Trust activities, and ensure that ongoing temple-related projects continue as scheduled. His appointment is intended to provide organizational stability during a period of heightened public attention.

Meeting Focused on Administrative Continuity

The Trust convened a meeting to discuss the resignations and other issues concerning its administration. The gathering focused on ensuring smooth governance and maintaining public confidence in the institution managing one of India’s most significant religious projects.

According to reports, the meeting also reviewed developments related to the donation controversy and considered measures necessary for the Trust’s continued functioning while investigations remain underway.

Investigation Into Donation Allegations Continues

Authorities are continuing their investigation into allegations involving the handling of donations received at the Ram Temple. Police have questioned several individuals as part of the inquiry, while officials have refrained from disclosing detailed findings, stating that the investigation remains confidential.

Trust officials have maintained that established audit mechanisms exist and have emphasized cooperation with investigating agencies. The inquiry is expected to determine whether any financial irregularities occurred and identify those responsible if wrongdoing is established.

Political Reactions Intensify

The controversy has also generated political reactions across the spectrum. Opposition parties have questioned the management of temple donations and demanded accountability, while organizations associated with the temple have called for a fair and impartial investigation.

Several leaders have urged authorities to complete the probe swiftly so that facts can be established without speculation. Ram Temple Project Continues

Despite the administrative changes, the Trust has indicated that the development and management of the Ram Temple will continue without interruption. Temple operations, pilgrim services, and other planned activities are expected to proceed under the supervision of the interim leadership.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust remains responsible for the administration, maintenance, and future development of the temple complex, which attracts devotees from across India and abroad.

The appointment of an interim General Secretary is expected to provide stability while the Trust evaluates its long-term leadership structure. Observers believe the coming weeks will be crucial as investigations progress and the Trust works to reinforce transparency and public confidence in its functioning.
