NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government has intensified preparations for the upcoming NEET UG Re-Examination scheduled for June 21, with Education Minister personally inspecting examination arrangements at CM Shri School in Pandara Road on Friday. The visit was aimed at reviewing facilities and ensuring that students and parents receive adequate support during one of the country’s most competitive entrance examinations.
Senior officials from the Education Department and the concerned Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) accompanied the minister during the inspection, where multiple arrangements for candidate welfare were assessed.
Focus on Student Comfort
Speaking after the inspection, Ashish Sood said extensive measures have been put in place to guarantee the smooth conduct of the examination across the national capital.
Acknowledging that thousands of parents travel long distances with their children to examination centres, the government has introduced specially designed cooling zones at every centre to provide relief from the prevailing summer heat.
Each cooling zone, spread across approximately 2,500 square feet, has been equipped with several essential facilities to ensure comfort for both students and their accompanying guardians.
The facilities include:
- Air-conditioned resting areas
- Seating arrangements
- Clean drinking water
- ORS packets
- Shikanji distribution
- First-aid support
The minister said these facilities have been planned to minimise inconvenience and create a supportive environment before students appear for the examination.
Early Arrivals Can Also Use the Facilities
Ashish Sood further clarified that students arriving before their designated reporting time will also be permitted to utilise these cooling zones. The initiative is intended to reduce stress and provide a comfortable waiting area instead of forcing candidates and parents to remain outdoors in high temperatures.
Officials believe that these measures will significantly improve the overall examination experience, especially for candidates travelling from distant areas.
CM Rekha Gupta Personally Monitoring Arrangements
The Education Minister said Chief Minister is personally monitoring preparations on a continuous basis and has issued necessary instructions to all concerned departments.
According to Sood, the administration is working in close coordination to ensure there are no logistical shortcomings on the examination day. He also stated that he would continue visiting various centres across Delhi to review preparedness and ensure that every arrangement is implemented effectively.
97 Examination Centres Established Across Delhi
The Delhi Government has set up a total of 97 examination centres for the NEET UG re-examination throughout the city.
These include:
- 69 Government Schools
- 28 Kendriya Vidyalayas
Authorities have coordinated efforts among education officials, district administrations and law enforcement agencies to ensure smooth operations.
Strict security measures have also been deployed around every examination centre to maintain order and prevent any disruptions during the examination process.
First-of-Its-Kind Initiative for Parents and Students
The Delhi Government described these arrangements as one of the most comprehensive support systems implemented for a national-level examination in the capital.
Officials said that special attention has been given not only to students but also to parents, who often spend several hours waiting outside examination venues.
The administration believes that providing dedicated spaces with essential amenities reflects a more humane and student-centric approach to examination management.
The government said this initiative demonstrates its commitment to ensuring that no candidate’s performance is negatively affected by external factors such as heat, crowding or discomfort.
Stress-Free Environment
Ashish Sood reiterated that the government’s primary objective is to create a stress-free atmosphere where candidates can focus entirely on their examinations. He said examinations of such national importance require not only strong security arrangements but also emotional and physical support systems for students and their families.
The minister added that ensuring convenience, safety and accessibility remains a top priority for the administration. He also extended his best wishes to all students appearing for the NEET UG re-examination and encouraged them to remain confident and focused.
Government Emphasises Student Welfare
As thousands of aspirants prepare for one of India’s most significant medical entrance examinations, the Delhi Government’s efforts signal a broader emphasis on student welfare beyond academic infrastructure.
With coordinated action involving multiple departments, dedicated cooling facilities and enhanced security measures, authorities are aiming to ensure a seamless experience for candidates and parents alike.
The administration has reiterated its commitment to making every examination centre safe, comfortable and efficient, allowing students to concentrate solely on achieving their academic goals.
