US President Donald Trump has announced what he described as a historic breakthrough in efforts to end the prolonged conflict in the Gaza Strip, revealing that the newly established Board of Peace has secured an agreement for the phased disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups. According to Trump, the deal also outlines a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, raising hopes for a new chapter in one of the world’s longest-running conflicts.

Peace Plan Centers on Phased Disarmament

Speaking about the agreement, Trump said the disarmament process would not happen immediately but would be carried out in carefully monitored stages. The phased approach is designed to ensure that weapons held by Hamas and other militant organizations are surrendered under international supervision while maintaining stability on the ground.

The US President said the agreement forms a crucial part of a broader peace initiative aimed at ending violence, improving humanitarian conditions, and creating an environment where long-term political negotiations can succeed.

Israeli Withdrawal Linked to Security Milestones

A key feature of the proposed framework is the gradual withdrawal of Israeli military forces from Gaza. According to Trump, the withdrawal would take place alongside verified progress in the disarmament process rather than through a fixed timeline.

The phased withdrawal is expected to be coordinated with international security mechanisms to prevent a power vacuum and reduce the risk of renewed violence. Officials believe linking military withdrawal to security benchmarks could increase confidence among all stakeholders.

International Security Force Planned

The agreement also proposes deploying an International Stabilization Force to assist in maintaining law and order during the transition period. The multinational force would work alongside a newly organized Palestinian police service tasked with ensuring internal security after armed groups surrender their weapons.

The force is expected to oversee key security operations, facilitate humanitarian assistance, and support reconstruction efforts while monitoring compliance with the agreement.

New Palestinian Administration Proposed

Trump stated that successful implementation of the agreement would allow the formation of a new Palestinian administration focused on governance, reconstruction, and public services instead of armed conflict.

The proposed administration would reportedly consist of technocratic leadership capable of managing Gaza’s civilian affairs while cooperating with international partners on rebuilding infrastructure and restoring essential services.

Regional Mediators Played Key Role

The United States credited several regional countries for helping advance negotiations. Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey were acknowledged for facilitating discussions that eventually led to the current framework.

Diplomatic efforts reportedly continued for several months before negotiators were able to bridge differences over security arrangements, governance, and the future political structure of Gaza.

Implementation Still Faces Challenges

Despite Trump’s announcement, significant hurdles remain before the agreement can be fully implemented. Questions continue over verification mechanisms, timelines, and whether all parties will ultimately accept every provision of the framework.

Reports indicate that implementation will depend on mutual compliance, with both disarmament and troop withdrawal progressing together. Analysts also note that any breakdown in trust could delay or complicate the process.

Violence Continues Despite Diplomatic Progress

Even as the agreement was announced, violence continued in parts of Gaza. Reports indicated that Israeli military operations and strikes were still taking place, underscoring the fragile security situation and the difficulty of translating diplomatic announcements into realities on the ground.

Observers believe maintaining the ceasefire and preventing further escalation will be essential for the success of the proposed roadmap.

Global Attention on Next Phase

The international community is closely watching developments as governments assess whether the framework can evolve into a durable peace arrangement. If implemented successfully, the agreement could mark one of the most significant diplomatic developments in the Israel-Gaza conflict in recent years.

However, experts caution that sustained political commitment, international monitoring, and cooperation from all involved parties will be necessary before the proposed roadmap can achieve its intended goals of lasting peace, regional stability, and reconstruction for Gaza.
