Major distributed open access solar projects across five states strengthen Sunkind India’s FY 2026–27 order book and reinforce its growing role in India’s renewable energy sector.
India’s renewable energy sector received another significant boost as Sunkind India Limited announced that it has secured distributed open access solar Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) orders totaling approximately 250 MWp by July 2026. The new projects, spread across multiple states and industries, further strengthen the company’s order pipeline for FY 2026–27 while reinforcing its position in the rapidly expanding clean energy market.
Major Solar Orders Across Five States
The newly secured orders involve the development of distributed open access ground-mounted solar power projects for commercial and industrial customers. These projects will be implemented across Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Tamil Nadu.
The projects cater to a wide range of industries, including steel, packaging, manufacturing, and independent power producers (IPPs). By expanding its footprint across different regions and sectors, Sunkind aims to support businesses seeking affordable, reliable, and sustainable electricity solutions.
The company stated that the latest order wins significantly strengthen its execution pipeline while demonstrating growing confidence among industrial customers in distributed renewable energy solutions.
Growing Demand for Distributed Open Access Solar
Distributed open access solar projects have emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing renewable energy segments. Increasing electricity costs, sustainability commitments, and the need for greater energy independence have encouraged commercial and industrial enterprises to adopt renewable power.
Businesses are increasingly opting for open access solar projects because they allow consumers to procure clean electricity directly from renewable energy generators at competitive prices. This model not only reduces long-term operating expenses but also supports corporate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals.
Sunkind believes the rising adoption of distributed renewable energy reflects a broader shift toward sustainable industrial operations across India.
Management Highlights Customer Confidence
Commenting on the development, Founder and Managing Director Hanish Gupta said the addition of nearly 250 MWp of new EPC orders reflects customers’ trust in the company’s engineering expertise, project execution capabilities, and commitment to delivering quality renewable energy infrastructure.
He noted that commercial and industrial enterprises are increasingly making renewable energy an essential component of their long-term business strategies. According to him, these projects strengthen Sunkind’s execution pipeline while reaffirming the company’s commitment to timely delivery, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Strong Execution Capabilities Drive Growth
Chief Operating Officer Virpal Yadav highlighted that the expanding order book reflects the strength of Sunkind’s integrated EPC model and disciplined project execution strategy.
He explained that the company possesses in-house expertise across engineering, procurement, project management, and construction, enabling it to execute multiple distributed solar projects simultaneously without compromising safety, quality, or delivery timelines.
According to him, the company remains focused on maintaining high operational standards while expanding its presence across India and building long-term partnerships with customers.
Expanding Beyond Traditional EPC Services
Over the years, Sunkind India has transformed itself from a conventional EPC contractor into an integrated renewable energy solutions provider.
The company has diversified its operations by entering mounting structures manufacturing, renewable asset management, and broader clean energy services. This expansion allows Sunkind to provide end-to-end renewable energy solutions while strengthening its presence across the entire value chain.
Its customer base spans multiple industries, including steel, manufacturing, textiles, food processing, packaging, and infrastructure, reflecting its diversified business portfolio.
Supporting India’s Renewable Energy Mission
India continues to witness strong momentum in renewable energy development due to supportive government policies, increasing corporate demand for green electricity, and growing investments in clean technologies.

The distributed open access segment, in particular, has gained significant traction as businesses seek reliable alternatives to conventional power sources. Government initiatives encouraging renewable energy adoption, domestic manufacturing, and energy storage solutions are expected to further accelerate market growth over the coming years.

Sunkind stated that it remains committed to contributing to India’s clean energy transition by delivering efficient, reliable, and scalable renewable energy solutions for commercial and industrial customers.
Focus on Domestic Manufacturing
As part of its long-term expansion strategy, the Sunkind Group is also moving forward with its planned photovoltaic (PV) module manufacturing facility at Mahindra World City in Jaipur.
The proposed facility aims to manufacture high-efficiency, DCR-compliant N-Type TOPCon PV modules for the domestic market. The project remains subject to regulatory approvals and completion of implementation activities.
This backward integration strategy is expected to strengthen the company’s manufacturing capabilities while supporting India’s vision of increasing domestic production under the renewable energy ecosystem.
Outlook for FY 2026–27
With approximately 250 MWp of fresh distributed open access EPC orders secured by July 2026, Sunkind India enters the new financial year with a stronger execution pipeline and an expanded national presence.
As demand for clean, affordable, and reliable energy continues to rise, the company appears well-positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities in India’s commercial and industrial renewable energy sector. Its integrated business model, diversified service offerings, and focus on execution excellence are expected to play a key role in supporting the country’s ongoing transition toward sustainable energy.
