NEW DELHI: The iconic Red Fort in New Delhi has been closed to visitors from July 15 and will remain inaccessible until August 15 as authorities begin extensive preparations for India’s Independence Day celebrations. The temporary closure has been imposed to facilitate security arrangements, infrastructure installation, rehearsals, and logistical planning for the annual national event, during which the Prime Minister addresses the nation from the historic monument.
