JAIPUR: The family of 15-year-old Vanshika Garg has intensified its demand for justice, accusing the investigating agencies of failing to make meaningful progress in the murder case more than a month after the teenager’s death. During a press conference held at the Pinkcity Press Club in Jaipur on Thursday, the family alleged that the investigation has slowed significantly, raising serious concerns about transparency, accountability, and the handling of evidence.
Vanshika, a resident of Pratap Nagar, reportedly went missing on June 5, 2026. Her body was recovered the following day, triggering widespread public outrage and demands for a thorough investigation. Since then, the family has continued to seek answers regarding the circumstances surrounding her death.
Addressing the media, Vanshika’s father Manish Garg, mother Santosh Garg, brother Varun Garg, legal representatives, members of the Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh, and several social activists expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of the investigation and called for immediate action.
Family Issues 48-Hour Ultimatum
The family announced a 48-hour ultimatum to the Rajasthan administration, demanding concrete progress in the investigation and a detailed update on the case. They warned that if no satisfactory action is taken within the specified period, they, along with supporters and civil society members, will begin a peaceful sit-in protest outside the BJP Rajasthan State Headquarters.
According to the family, despite repeated assurances from authorities and public representatives, no significant developments have been communicated. They argued that the prolonged silence has increased their frustration and deepened concerns about whether justice will be delivered.
The family also stated that if the administration fails to respond adequately, it will bear full responsibility for any public demonstrations arising from the protest.
Emotional Appeal on Vanshika’s Birthday
The press conference coincided with Vanshika’s birthday, making the occasion particularly emotional for her family. Her parents said that instead of celebrating with their daughter, they are continuing their struggle to secure justice for her.

They described the day as a painful reminder of an unfinished fight, saying that every child deserves the opportunity to celebrate life’s milestones with loved ones. The family maintained that they would continue pursuing justice until those responsible for the crime are identified and brought before the law.
Their emotional appeal resonated with several social activists present at the event, who expressed solidarity with the family’s campaign.
Questions Raised Over Police Investigation
Vanshika’s father, Manish Garg, raised several questions regarding the investigation conducted so far. He alleged that police had seized mobile phones belonging to members of the victim’s family over a month ago as part of the investigation but had not disclosed whether any relevant evidence had been recovered.
He questioned why similar action had not been publicly taken against the suspects, including the seizure and forensic examination of their electronic devices. According to him, the investigation appeared to be placing greater scrutiny on the victim’s family rather than focusing on identifying those responsible for the murder.
Mr. Garg further alleged that influential individuals were shielding the accused and claimed that the victim’s family had been subjected to unnecessary harassment during the course of the investigation.
Allegations Over Earlier Assurances
The family also recalled the protests held outside RUHS Hospital following Vanshika’s death. They alleged that police and administrative officials had assured them that arrests would be made within two days.
According to the family, several protesters were detained during the demonstrations, yet more than a month later, no arrests have been announced and no detailed explanation regarding the investigation has been provided.
The family further claimed that local public representatives, including MLA Kailash Verma and BJP Block President Gopal Saini, had requested them to end their protest and proceed with the final rites, assuring them that they would facilitate a meeting with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and help ensure swift justice. However, they alleged that those representatives are no longer responding to their calls.
Concerns Over FSL and Post-Mortem Reports
Vanshika’s mother, Santosh Garg, expressed concern over what she described as confusion surrounding the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) report. She alleged that when the family approached police officials on July 4 seeking information, they were neither provided with any updates nor allowed to meet senior officers.
She also questioned the handling of the post-mortem report, stating that when it was handed over, doctors reportedly declined to explain its findings in detail. The family argued that investigating agencies have a responsibility to maintain transparency and keep victims’ families informed throughout the legal process.
Social Organisations Extend Support
Representatives of the Sanyukt Abhibhavak Sangh and other social organisations voiced support for the family’s demands during the press conference.
State President Arvind Agrawal said the movement is not politically motivated but is focused on securing justice for one victim while highlighting broader concerns over the safety of girls across the country. He stated that the campaign seeks stronger accountability and more effective responses in crimes involving children and women.
State Spokesperson Abhishek Jain “Bittu” appealed to parents and citizens to support the family’s pursuit of justice. He said that rising crimes against girls have raised serious questions about public safety and confidence in the justice system.
The family reiterated that they remain committed to pursuing legal and peaceful means to seek justice and expressed hope that authorities will respond before the expiration of their 48-hour ultimatum.
