Iran’s the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed responsibility for a fresh wave of missile and drone strikes targeting American military assets in Jordan and Kuwait, marking another escalation in regional tensions. According to an official statement issued by the IRGC, the operations were carried out as part of the fourteenth and fifteenth phases of what it calls Operation Nasr-2.
The announcement alleges that Iranian forces struck US fighter aircraft, aerial refueling planes, and military installations using a combination of ballistic missiles and armed drones. The claims have not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate confirmation from the United States regarding the reported damage or casualties.
IRGC Announces Fourteenth Wave of Operation Nasr-2
In its first statement released on Friday, the IRGC said the fourteenth wave of Operation Nasr-2 focused on US military aviation assets stationed in Jordan. Iranian officials claimed that ballistic missiles and multiple drones were launched in two coordinated attacks against American fighter jets and aerial refueling aircraft.
According to the IRGC, several US aircraft were destroyed during the operation, while additional fighter jets and support aircraft sustained significant damage. The statement described the strikes as a successful operation designed to weaken US military capabilities in the region.
Iranian authorities further stated that the attacks demonstrated the country’s ability to conduct precision strikes against strategic military targets beyond its borders. However, no independent evidence has been released to support the claims made in the statement.
Fifteenth Wave Targets US Forces in Kuwait
In a separate announcement issued later the same day, the IRGC claimed that the fifteenth wave of Operation Nasr-2 targeted American military positions in Kuwait.
The statement alleged that Iranian forces successfully struck a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) launcher and missile storage facilities using a combination of drones and missiles. It also claimed that several military bases hosting US personnel were hit during the operation.
The IRGC further asserted that the strikes caused significant casualties among American special forces and what it described as “American-Israeli mercenary counter-revolutionary groups.” No official casualty figures were provided, and the claims remain unverified.
Neither the US Department of Defense nor Kuwaiti authorities had immediately responded to the allegations at the time of reporting.
Regional Conflict Continues to Intensify
The latest claims come amid continuing tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel following months of military confrontations across the Middle East.
Iran maintains that its recent military operations are a response to what it describes as repeated violations of previous understandings by the United States. Iranian officials argue that their actions are intended to deter further attacks and protect national security.
The IRGC has repeatedly stated that Operation Nasr-2 is part of a broader military campaign aimed at responding to perceived threats against Iran and its allies in the region.
Background of the Conflict
According to Iranian officials, the current phase of hostilities began after the United States and Israel launched military operations against Iran earlier this year. Tehran has consistently described those actions as unlawful and says its retaliatory strikes are carried out in self-defense.

Iranian authorities now accuse Washington of violating several provisions of that understanding, arguing that the alleged breaches prompted the latest round of military operations under Operation Nasr-2.
The United States has not publicly acknowledged Iran’s accusations or confirmed the existence of violations related to the reported agreement.
