AYODHYA: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has strongly defended Ayodhya and the Ram Temple amid the ongoing controversy surrounding alleged irregularities in temple donations. Referring to criticism from opposition parties, he urged them not to “cast an evil eye on Ayodhya” and said the city should not be defamed over the actions of a few individuals.

Government Assures Strict Action

Yogi Adityanath said his government has adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption and financial misconduct. He asserted that anyone found guilty during the investigation would face strict legal action, regardless of their position or influence. He maintained that no accused would be protected if evidence establishes wrongdoing.

Appeal Against Politicising the Issue

The Chief Minister accused opposition parties of attempting to derive political mileage from the controversy. He said isolated allegations should not be used to question the sanctity of Ayodhya or the Ram Temple, which holds immense religious significance for millions of devotees across India.

SIT Probe Continues

The alleged donation irregularities are currently being investigated by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). Based on preliminary findings, an FIR has been registered against several individuals accused of cheating, criminal breach of trust, conspiracy, and theft. Investigators are examining financial records, witness statements, and other evidence before submitting their final report.

Faith and Transparency

Yogi Adityanath stressed that the government remains committed to maintaining transparency in the administration of temple affairs. He said that while accountability is essential, people should refrain from drawing conclusions before the investigation is completed.

Opposition Raises Questions

Opposition leaders have demanded greater transparency in the management of temple donations and have sought an impartial investigation into the alleged financial irregularities. They argue that contributions made by devotees should be managed with complete accountability and openness.

Appeal for Patience

The Chief Minister appealed to the public to remain patient and allow the investigation to proceed without political interference. He noted that the Ram Temple represents centuries of faith and sacrifice, and any allegations should be examined through due legal process rather than public speculation.

Investigation to Determine Accountability

Officials associated with the SIT are expected to continue scrutinising financial transactions and administrative procedures linked to the donation case. The findings of the investigation will determine the next course of legal action, while the Uttar Pradesh government has reiterated that justice will be delivered based on evidence.

The controversy has intensified political debate in Uttar Pradesh, but the state government maintains that the investigation will be fair, impartial, and free from political influence. The final report of the SIT is expected to provide greater clarity on the allegations surrounding the Ram Temple donation case.
