NEW DELHI: The team behind the much-anticipated Punjabi comedy film Carry On Jatta 4 held a grand press conference in the national capital as part of the movie’s promotional campaign. The event was attended by lead actors Gippy Grewal, Sargun Mehta, Binnu Dhillon, and newcomer Pukhraj Bhalla, who shared their experiences and insights about the latest installment of the popular franchise.

Widely regarded as one of the most successful comedy franchises in Punjabi cinema, Carry On Jatta has entertained audiences for years. Following the success of its first three films, the makers are now preparing to bring the fourth chapter to theatres across India on June 26.

Speaking at the event, Gippy Grewal reflected on the journey of the franchise and how it began. He recalled that he was immediately drawn to the film’s script when the original project was conceived. With limited resources available at the time, he worked alongside friends to assemble a team and independently produce the film. The overwhelming response from audiences encouraged the team to continue the series, eventually leading to the creation of the fourth installment.

Grewal also spoke about one of the biggest challenges faced during the making of Carry On Jatta 4—the absence of veteran actor Bhalla Sahab, whose contribution to the franchise was significant. According to him, the team initially felt it would be difficult to move forward without the beloved actor. However, they later explored the possibility of using artificial intelligence technology to recreate his presence on screen.

He explained that the idea was carefully evaluated before being implemented. A demonstration video was created to test the concept, and after receiving positive feedback, the filmmakers approached Bhalla Sahab’s family. The project moved ahead only after obtaining the family’s approval, ensuring that the tribute was carried out respectfully.

Actress Sargun Mehta described her involvement in the film as a dream come true. She revealed that watching Carry On Jatta had inspired her to become a part of the Punjabi film industry. Being cast in the franchise, she said, was both a proud and emotional milestone in her career.

Binnu Dhillon also remembered Bhalla Sahab with affection and admiration. He noted that the late actor’s absence was deeply felt during filming and praised him for his generosity and remarkable talent. Dhillon expressed confidence that the latest installment would deliver the same laughter and entertainment that audiences have come to expect from the franchise.

Adding an emotional layer to the film is the debut of Pukhraj Bhalla, son of the late Bhalla Sahab. His entry into the industry through Carry On Jatta 4 is expected to resonate strongly with fans of the franchise and admirers of his father’s work.

With a blend of comedy, nostalgia, and heartfelt tributes, Carry On Jatta 4 aims to continue the legacy of one of Punjabi cinema’s most beloved film series. The movie is scheduled for a nationwide release on June 26.
