NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested former West Bengal Trinamool Congress MLA Saokat Molla in connection with the high-profile Bhangar bomb blast case, describing him as a key conspirator in the incident that shook South 24 Parganas ahead of the state Assembly elections. The arrest marks a significant development in the investigation, with central agency officials alleging that Molla played a crucial role in planning and directing activities linked to the illegal bomb-making operation.
According to the NIA, Molla had been evading arrest for an extended period before being traced and taken into custody from South 24 Parganas district.
