NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the subject-wise examination schedule for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) June 2026 session, providing much-awaited clarity to lakhs of candidates preparing for one of India’s most important eligibility examinations for higher education and research careers. The examination will be conducted from June 22 to June 30, 2026, across the country in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.
UGC NET serves as the gateway for determining eligibility for Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), and admission to PhD programmes in universities and colleges across India. Every year, lakhs of postgraduate candidates appear for the examination, making it one of the most significant academic recruitment and eligibility tests in the country.
According to the schedule released by NTA, examinations will be spread over nine days and will cover a wide range of subjects offered under the UGC NET framework. Admit cards will also be issued closer to the examination dates and will contain detailed information regarding the examination centre, reporting time, and important instructions.
Reports indicate that admit cards are expected to be released by mid-June, giving candidates sufficient time to download and verify their examination details.
