NEW DELHI: Actor, author and spiritual thinker Ashutosh Rana has joined Durlabh Darshan as its brand ambassador and mentor for an ambitious initiative that combines faith with cutting-edge technology. The platform has announced plans to establish more than 100 immersive 6D spiritual experience centres, enabling devotees to virtually experience some of India’s most revered temples with an atmosphere designed to closely resemble an actual visit.
The first phase of the initiative begins on July 1 with immersive experiences based on “Shri Ram Ki Ayodhya” and “Ujjayini Ke Mahakal.” Through advanced virtual reality technology, devotees will be able to witness temple rituals, aartis and sacred traditions while also experiencing environmental effects such as fragrance, air and water mist.
‘Where Religion and Science Meet’
Speaking at the launch event in New Delhi, Ashutosh Rana described the project as a unique blend of spirituality and innovation.
“Religion has its own science, and science has its own discipline. But where religion and science come together, that is Durlabh Darshan,” Rana said.
He added that the initiative has been designed to make spiritual experiences accessible to people regardless of where they are.
“This will be the world’s first 6D spiritual experience, which people will be able to enjoy from anywhere through virtual reality technology,” he said.
According to Rana, each experience has been carefully created to help devotees understand not only the rituals but also the mythology and spiritual significance associated with every temple.
“Every temple experience will present its mythology, spiritual significance, rituals and aarti in a simple and easy-to-understand manner,” he said.
11 Spiritual Journeys to Begin the Series
The initial series will feature 11 immersive spiritual experiences, beginning with Ayodhya and Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain. Ashutosh Rana appears as the presenter, narrating the stories, legends and historical importance of these sacred sites while guiding viewers through important religious ceremonies.
The scripts have been written by noted author Alok Srivastava, who earlier collaborated with Rana on the acclaimed narration of the Shiv Tandav Stotra. The two have also previously worked together in the theatrical production “Hamare Ram.”
Music for the immersive films has been composed by Saurabh Mehta, blending devotional compositions with cinematic storytelling.
Made-in-India 6D Technology
The immersive experience is powered by a fully Made-in-India technology developed by TechXR Innovations. The patented system synchronizes VR visuals with environmental effects including temple fragrances, air movement and water droplets, creating a multi-sensory experience that lasts around 10 to 15 minutes.
Founder Prashant Mishra, an IIT Kanpur alumnus and former Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer, said the platform was developed to solve a common challenge faced by pilgrims.
Millions of devotees visit India’s famous temples every year, but heavy crowds often allow only a brief glimpse of the deity. The immersive centres aim to recreate the feeling of being inside the temple sanctum, allowing devotees to spend more time experiencing rituals and prayers in a peaceful setting.
Expanding Across India’s Sacred Destinations
Durlabh Darshan already operates centres across several major pilgrimage destinations, including Kashi Vishwanath, Mahakaleshwar, Vaishno Devi, Hanuman Garhi in Ayodhya, Haridwar, ISKCON Temple Delhi, Maihar, Kurukshetra and other prominent temples.
The company’s mobile VR application also allows users to experience more than 60 temples, pilgrimage routes and special religious ceremonies from their homes using compatible VR headsets.
Future immersive projects will cover Char Dham Yatra, the twelve Jyotirlingas, major Shakti Peethas, Jagannath Rath Yatra, Vrindavan Parikrama, Kailash Mansarovar, Dwarkadhish and Ram Van Gaman Path.

Founder Prashant Mishra, who left a 15-year career in the IRS to pursue technological innovation, said the startup aims to make spiritual experiences more accessible while preserving India’s cultural heritage. The company has also created employment opportunities for over 250 young professionals.
