MATECIA Exhibition 2026, one of India’s major platforms for building materials, architecture and interior design, opened its seventh edition at Yashobhoomi in Dwarka, New Delhi, on Thursday. The four-day national exhibition, running from August 20 to 23, brings together manufacturers, architects, interior designers, dealers, retailers and other professionals from across the built-environment sector.
The event is being held alongside the 11th edition of THE WADE ASIA, India Furniture Conclave (IFC) and Material Technology Conference (MTC), creating a combined platform focused on business, innovation, design and industry knowledge.
Industry Leaders Attend MATECIA 2026 Inauguration
The inauguration brought together prominent personalities from business, architecture, design and manufacturing. Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt and founder and CEO of OFF/BEAT; Rajesh Mittal, President of FIPPI and CMD of Greenply Industries Ltd.; and Surinder Arora, President of ILMA and MD of Virgo Laminates Ltd., attended as chief guests.
N.K. Agarwal, Patron of FIPPI and Chairperson of Action Tesa Group, and filmmaker, actor and producer Nandita Das were present as guests of honour.
The inaugural programme highlighted the growing importance of large-scale Indian exhibitions in connecting businesses, professionals and emerging ideas.
Aman Gupta said India has developed the capability to host global-standard trade platforms, reducing the need for industry professionals to depend solely on international exhibitions. He noted that MATECIA reflects the increasing maturity of India’s business and exhibition ecosystem.
Over 350 Exhibitors to Showcase Products and Innovations
MATECIA 2026 features more than 350 exhibitors, including major names such as Ambiply, Greenply Industries Limited and CenturyPly. Organisers expect the exhibition to attract more than 50,000 trade visitors from over 600 towns and cities and more than 14 countries.
The combined programme also includes more than 100 architects and design jury members, 200 finalist presentations and over 100 speakers, offering visitors opportunities to explore new products, technologies and design trends.
The exhibition covers a broad spectrum of building and interior categories, including plywood and wood panels, laminates, veneers, flooring, cladding, cement boards, surfaces, louvers, doors and windows, kitchens, wardrobes, furniture, hardware, machinery and allied products.
MATECIA Targets Stronger Business Connections
According to Verticaa Dvivedi, Director of MATECIA Exhibition and Founder of THE WADE ASIA Architecture Event, the Delhi edition represents an important milestone as material, architecture, furniture and design communities come together on a national platform.

She said the industry is moving beyond conventional product showcases, creating greater demand for meaningful engagement, knowledge-sharing and business opportunities. MATECIA aims to connect brands, architects, designers and businesses while highlighting innovation and emerging market trends.
Pragath Dvivedi, Director of MATECIA Exhibition, said changing consumer expectations, evolving design preferences and product innovation are reshaping the building materials and interiors industry. He said the National Edition is designed to strengthen connections between brands, dealers, distributors, architects and designers and encourage business opportunities beyond the exhibition.
THE WADE ASIA Adds Major Architecture and Design Programme
The co-location of THE WADE ASIA gives MATECIA 2026 an additional focus on architecture and interior design. The programme features several prominent architects and designers, including Reza Kabul, Alan Abraham, Rahul Bansal, Tanmay Tathagat, Charanjit Singh Shah, Puran Kumar, Vaibhav Dimri, Sanjay Singh, Sabeena Khanna, Sonali Bhagwati, Arpan Shah, Milind Pai, Sidhartha Talwar and Anupam Bansal.
Dr. Ning Huo, Executive Principal at AEDAS, Singapore, is scheduled to deliver the keynote address. The architecture programme covers residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, public infrastructure and sustainable design.
WADE Competitions and Innovation Zones
A key attraction is the WADE ASIA SheDesigns National Competition and Live Jury Presentations, which has received more than 4,000 entries across over 18 categories. More than 200 shortlisted projects will be presented before leading architects and design experts.
The programme also includes networking sessions, Materials Adda, the Design Galore Innovation Zone, product launches and live demonstrations. The India Interior Retailing Conference and India Furniture Conclave will further expand the business and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
The four-day programme will conclude with the WADE Awards, recognising achievements and innovation in architecture and design.
