India has strongly rejected anti-India references in resolutions adopted at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Baghdad, accusing Pakistan of using the international organisation to promote a politically motivated agenda against New Delhi.

In an official statement issued on October 19, 2026, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) described the references to India as malicious, biased and false. New Delhi expressed disappointment over what it termed the OIC’s repeated willingness to be used by Pakistan to advance its agenda against India.

The statement followed the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting held in Baghdad on October 17–18, during which resolutions included references concerning India and Jammu and Kashmir.

India’s response reaffirmed its longstanding position that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral and inalienable parts of the country. It also questioned the OIC’s authority to comment on matters that New Delhi considers strictly internal to India.

India Rejects OIC Resolutions as Biased and Politically Motivated

The MEA’s statement made clear that India would not accept what it characterised as politically motivated allegations circulated through international platforms.

According to New Delhi, Pakistan has repeatedly used the OIC to raise issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, while the organisation’s endorsement of such narratives raises questions about its impartiality and credibility.

India maintained that the resolutions do not reflect the ground realities and accused Pakistan of attempting to internationalise matters that fall within India’s domestic jurisdiction.

The government also criticised the OIC for repeating allegations against India, arguing that the organisation should adopt a more balanced and responsible approach rather than endorsing claims advanced by individual member states.

Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Are Integral Parts of India

Reiterating its position on territorial integrity, India said Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh remain integral and inalienable parts of the country.

The statement specifically referred to the abrogation of Article 370, following which the government says the region has experienced economic development and improvements in infrastructure, tourism and connectivity.

New Delhi argued that these developments have delivered benefits to local residents and contrasted its account of progress in Jammu and Kashmir with the situation in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

OIC

The MEA accused Pakistan of responding to civilian protests in PoJK with violence, repression and brutality. It alleged that protesters, including women and children, had been killed and criticised what it described as restrictions on information and media coverage.

India said that attempts to suppress reporting could not conceal alleged human rights violations in the region.

These assertions formed a central part of New Delhi’s broader argument that Pakistan should address developments in territories under its control instead of directing international criticism towards India.

India Calls on Pakistan to End Cross-Border Terrorism

India identified two principal issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir that it said remained unresolved: Pakistan’s withdrawal from areas under its alleged illegal occupation and the cessation of its support for cross-border terrorism.

The statement underlined New Delhi’s longstanding security concerns regarding terrorism and its insistence that Pakistan take concrete action against activities directed at India.

By placing these demands at the centre of its response, the government sought to shift attention from the OIC resolutions to what it described as Pakistan’s responsibilities concerning territorial control and regional security.

The position also reflects India’s consistent objection to external involvement in matters relating to Jammu and Kashmir.

New Delhi Rejects Allegations of Islamophobia

The MEA also criticised references to Islamophobia and other allegations against India contained in the OIC resolutions.

India described these claims as fabricated and hostile, alleging that Pakistan was attempting to divert international attention from its own record on minority rights, sectarian violence, governance and political instability.

The statement rejected the suggestion that such allegations provided a legitimate basis for criticism of India and accused Pakistan of using international forums to advance narratives that New Delhi considers misleading.

The exchange highlights continuing diplomatic differences between India and Pakistan over minority rights, religious freedom, terrorism and the international treatment of the Jammu and Kashmir issue.

India Questions OIC Credibility and Calls for Reform

In its concluding remarks, India expressed concern over what it described as the OIC’s repeated endorsement of hostile narratives promoted by Pakistan.

New Delhi argued that the organisation’s approach raises serious questions about its credibility and institutional integrity. It also called on OIC member countries to adopt a more responsible position and consider reforms to prevent the organisation from being used to advance politically motivated claims.

The statement represents another firm diplomatic response by India to international criticism concerning Jammu and Kashmir.

For New Delhi, the central issues remain national sovereignty, territorial integrity and the need to address cross-border terrorism. India has consistently maintained that Jammu and Kashmir is an internal matter and opposed attempts to internationalise the dispute through multilateral organisations.

The latest statement underscores that India intends to continue challenging resolutions and allegations it considers biased, while urging international institutions to maintain fairness, credibility and objectivity in their deliberations.
