The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced a major organisational reshuffle under national president Nitin Nabin, unveiling a new team that brings several prominent leaders back into key national positions while strengthening the party’s organisational structure across states. The appointments include former Union minister Smriti Irani, former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, senior leader Vinod Tawde and Union minister Piyush Goyal, among several other prominent names.
The reshuffle comes months after Nitin Nabin took charge as BJP national president. The new structure combines experienced political leaders with younger faces and representatives from different regions, signalling an effort to reinforce the party machinery ahead of important electoral battles.
Smriti Irani Gets Key Uttar Pradesh Responsibility
One of the most significant appointments is that of Smriti Irani as a national general secretary with charge of Uttar Pradesh. The former Union minister had remained a prominent national face of the BJP and is now being given a crucial organisational responsibility in the country’s most politically significant state.
Her appointment is particularly important because Uttar Pradesh remains central to the BJP’s national political strategy. By assigning a well-known leader to organisational responsibilities in the state, the party is expected to strengthen coordination and political outreach ahead of future electoral challenges.
Vasundhara Raje Among 13 National Vice Presidents
Former Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia has been appointed a national vice president. She is among 13 leaders named to the post in the new organisational structure.
The vice-presidential team includes Tirath Singh Rawat, Ram Madhav, Baijayant Jay Panda, D. Purandeshwari, Rekha Verma, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi, Bharti Pravin Pawar, Manpreet Singh Badal, Lal Singh Arya, M. Nagaraja, Tariq Mansoor and Madhuchandra Kar.
The appointments provide the BJP with representation from several regions, including Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and West Bengal.
Vinod Tawde Continues as National General Secretary
Senior BJP leader Vinod Tawde has been appointed a national general secretary in the new team. He joins a group that includes Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Smriti Irani, Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi and Sanjay Bhatia.
B.L. Santhosh will continue as national general secretary (organisation), while Shivprakash and Saudan Singh have been appointed national joint general secretaries (organisation).
The structure highlights the BJP’s continued emphasis on organisational management alongside political leadership.
Piyush Goyal Gets National Treasurer Role
Another major appointment is that of Piyush Goyal as the BJP’s national treasurer. Rajesh Mangal has been named national joint treasurer.
Tarun Chugh will serve as central office in-charge, while Mahendra Pandey has been appointed central office secretary.
The reshuffle therefore extends beyond political appointments and includes a broader restructuring of the party’s administrative and organisational machinery.
16 Leaders Named National Secretaries
The BJP has also appointed a new group of national secretaries. The list includes Kavita Patidar, K. Surendran, Bhola Singh, Pradip Varma, Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel, Sandeep Pathak, Phangnon Konyak, Sangeeta Yadav, Anil Antony, M. Venkateshan, Manoj Tigga, Siddharth Shambhu, Swadesh Singh, Mriganka Deo Barman, Rohan Gupta and Jai Prakash.
The broad geographical spread of these appointments indicates the party’s attempt to maintain representation across multiple states and political constituencies.
BJP Strengthens Northeast and Front Organisations
The new structure also assigns specific responsibilities for regional coordination. Sambit Patra has been appointed Northeast coordinator, with Rajiv Babbar as joint coordinator.

Vishnu Datt Sharma will coordinate all party cells, assisted by Rituraj Sinha and Vishnu Vardhan Reddy as joint coordinators.
The party has simultaneously changed leadership across its major frontal organisations. Hemang Joshi will head the Yuva Morcha, while Roop Kumari Choudhary will lead the Mahila Morcha. Amarpal Maurya has been appointed president of the OBC Morcha, and Bansilal Gurjar will head the Kisan Morcha.
Shivesh Kumar Ram will lead the SC Morcha, Mannalal Rawat the ST Morcha and Kunwar Basit Ali the Minority Morcha.
New Media and Social Media Team
The BJP has also revamped its communication structure. Anil Baluni has been appointed media convenor, while Ashish Usha Agrawal, Pradeep Bhandari and Siddharth Yadav will serve as media co-convenors.
Deepak Mhaskey has been appointed social media convenor. Priti Gandhi, Shivanand Dwivedi, Alok Bhatt and Arun Yadav have been named social media co-convenors.
The appointments come at a time when political parties increasingly rely on digital communication, rapid messaging and social media outreach to engage voters.
A Strategic Reset Under Nitin Nabin
The announcement marks a significant organisational reset under Nitin Nabin, who became the BJP’s national president earlier this year. The party’s latest structure brings together veteran leaders, former ministers, regional figures and younger representatives in an attempt to create a wider and more dynamic national organisation.
The inclusion of figures such as Smriti Irani, Vasundhara Raje, Ram Madhav, Vinod Tawde and Piyush Goyal gives the new team considerable political experience.
