BHOPAL: The disappearance of 10 people, including two minors, from different parts of Bhopal within just 24 hours has prompted an extensive search operation by the city police. Investigators are tracking multiple leads, reviewing CCTV footage, and monitoring mobile phone records as anxious families wait for updates on the missing individuals.
Multiple Missing Cases Trigger Citywide Search
Bhopal Police have launched a coordinated search after receiving ten separate missing person complaints in a single day. The cases have been registered across several police station jurisdictions, raising concern due to the unusually high number of disappearances reported within such a short period.
According to officials, the missing individuals belong to different age groups and localities, suggesting that the incidents are not immediately linked. However, investigators are examining every possible angle while treating each complaint with urgency.
Kolar and Ayodhya Nagar Report Highest Number of Cases
Police records indicate that the highest number of missing person complaints came from the Kolar and Ayodhya Nagar police station areas, with three cases reported from each jurisdiction. Additional complaints were lodged in Ashoka Garden, TT Nagar, Ratibad and Awadhpuri police station limits.
Authorities have deployed teams across these areas to conduct field inquiries, collect evidence and interact with local residents who may have witnessed the movements of the missing persons.
Two Minors Among Those Missing
Among the ten missing individuals are two minors aged between 16 and 19 years. In one case, a 17-year-old student reportedly left home to attend classes but failed to return. After making extensive efforts to locate her, the family approached the police and lodged a formal complaint.
Officials said each missing person’s circumstances differ, making the investigation more complex. Police are maintaining regular communication with the affected families while pursuing all available leads.
Mobile Phones Switched Off, Adding to Investigation Challenges
Investigators revealed that in several cases, the missing persons’ mobile phones were switched off shortly after they left their homes. This has made digital tracking more difficult and increased the importance of technical surveillance and physical searches.
Police cyber teams are analysing the last known mobile locations, call records and digital footprints to reconstruct the movements of those who disappeared. Officers are also coordinating with telecom service providers wherever required under legal procedures.

Search teams have begun examining CCTV footage from residential colonies, marketplaces, roads and public transport facilities. Surveillance cameras installed near the homes of the missing individuals and along possible travel routes are being reviewed for clues.
