After a decade of planning, development and dedication, the Bhaktidwar Television App has been launched as a new digital platform focused on devotion, spirituality and Sanatan culture. The platform was unveiled in Mumbai by legendary bhajan singer and Padma Shri awardee Anup Jalota, who also launched its logo during the event.

The launch brought together artistes, filmmakers, television personalities and members of the Bhaktidwar team, offering guests an introduction to the kind of religious and spiritual programming the platform plans to bring to audiences.

Bhaktidwar Emerges From a Decade-Long Vision

Founder Dinesh Asopa said the launch represents the fulfilment of a vision that has taken nearly 10 years to develop. According to Asopa, the idea behind Bhaktidwar was never limited to creating another streaming service. Instead, the objective was to establish a dedicated digital destination where audiences could find devotional, spiritual and Sanatan Dharma-related programming in one place.

The platform has been designed to bring traditional religious content into a digital environment that can be accessed by viewers across different age groups and locations.

Bhaktidwar is expected to offer a broad selection of programming, including religious series, devotional songs, mantras, chalisas, spiritual discourses, animation-based content and AI-generated videos. Live broadcasts of religious events will also form part of the platform’s programming lineup.

Anup Jalota Highlights Spirituality and Inner Peace

Speaking at the launch, Anup Jalota praised the initiative and highlighted the potential of devotional content in today’s increasingly stressful environment.

Jalota described Bhaktidwar as more than a technology platform, saying it could become a digital gateway connecting people with devotion, happiness and peace. He emphasised that spirituality and devotional practices can provide a sense of calm and positivity amid the pressures of modern life.

The veteran bhajan singer also pointed to the growing interest among younger audiences in spiritual and devotional material. According to him, younger generations are increasingly exploring content that can provide positivity, emotional balance and peace of mind.

His presence at the launch added significance to the platform’s debut, particularly given his decades-long association with devotional music and bhajans.

Affordable Subscription Designed for Wider Reach

One of the key features highlighted at the launch is Bhaktidwar’s low-cost subscription model. The platform has set its subscription price at ₹11 per week, with the stated aim of making devotional and spiritual programming accessible to a broad audience.

By combining an affordable subscription with multiple forms of religious and cultural programming, the platform intends to reach viewers in India as well as audiences outside the country.

The service is positioned around faith, spirituality, positivity and cultural connection, while its digital format is intended to make such programming available to audiences through a modern viewing experience.

Contemporary Spiritual Shows Add a New Dimension

Bhaktidwar’s content lineup also includes three special shows directed by filmmaker Jaidev Chakravorty. Chakravorty brings extensive experience to the project, having directed more than 4,000 television episodes as well as three feature films during his career.

The three programmes have been developed to explore spiritual themes through contemporary storytelling and presentation. The approach is aimed at making traditional ideas more engaging and accessible to today’s viewers while retaining their devotional and cultural character.

Actors Sandeep Mohan and Sanjay Swaraj, who have contributed to special Bhaktidwar programmes, were also present at the launch event.

Film and Television Personalities Attend Launch

The Mumbai event featured several contributors and supporters associated with the platform. Guests and members of the Bhaktidwar team were felicitated with mementos during the programme.

The event was hosted by Bhawna Sharma, a prominent anchor associated with Doordarshan Dehradun, adding a television industry presence to the launch.

Members of Dinesh Asopa’s family also attended the occasion, including his father Jugal Kishore Asopa, daughters Divya Asopa and Nikita Asopa, and brother-in-law Jayesh Mishra.

The gathering reflected the personal and professional journey behind the platform, with the launch marking the transition of a decade-long idea into a publicly introduced digital service.

Bhaktidwar Targets the Growing Spiritual Content Audience

The launch comes at a time when digital audiences are increasingly consuming devotional music, religious programmes, spiritual discussions and culturally rooted content through online platforms.

Bhaktidwar seeks to build a dedicated space around this demand rather than treating spiritual programming as a small segment within a broader entertainment catalogue. Its planned combination of devotional music, religious series, mantras, spiritual discourses, animation, AI-generated videos and live religious broadcasts is intended to create a diverse content ecosystem.

With its focus on Sanatan culture and spirituality, the platform aims to serve audiences looking for faith-based and positive programming while using digital technology to expand its reach.

The launch of Bhaktidwar therefore marks an ambitious attempt to bring traditional devotion into a dedicated digital environment. Backed by a decade of work and introduced with the support of Anup Jalota, the platform now aims to establish itself as a destination for spiritual content, devotional entertainment and messages of inner peace for audiences in India and around the world.
