Iran has strongly reaffirmed the importance of its relationship with India, describing the bilateral partnership as historic, civilisational and long-standing days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The renewed diplomatic emphasis comes as India and Iran look to deepen cooperation across trade, economic engagement and regional connectivity.
