An Indian citizen was among 12 people killed in a major overnight Russian missile and drone assault across Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Tuesday, as the latest wave of attacks intensified concerns over the worsening humanitarian toll of the Russia-Ukraine war.
The overnight strikes hit several parts of Ukraine, damaging residential areas and other civilian infrastructure. According to Zelenskyy, Russian forces deployed a large number of jet-powered drones along with ballistic missiles during the assault.

Kyiv Railway Facility Hit, Seven Reported Dead
Kyiv was among the areas badly affected by the overnight assault.
Zelenskyy said seven people were killed in an attack on a railway depot in the Ukrainian capital. The strike also prompted a large emergency response, with hundreds of rescuers deployed across Kyiv and nearby areas.
Emergency teams were involved in searching damaged locations, assisting residents and dealing with the aftermath of explosions and fires.
The attacks underline the continued vulnerability of civilian and transportation infrastructure in Ukraine, even as the country remains under prolonged wartime pressure.
The latest bombardment came after several consecutive days of Russian aerial attacks around Kyiv, adding to concerns about the increasing intensity of long-range strikes.
Apartment Building Damaged in Boryspil
Boryspil, located near Kyiv, was also struck during the overnight assault.

A five-storey residential building suffered damage, forcing authorities to evacuate around 50 people. Zelenskyy said four people were killed in Boryspil and 13 others were injured.
Commercial properties and other facilities were also damaged, highlighting the broad impact of the strikes on civilian areas.
Rescue and emergency workers continued operations after the attacks, while residents were moved away from damaged structures to safer locations.
The repeated targeting of urban areas has raised fresh concerns about civilian safety as the war continues into another year.
