A private training aircraft crashed in a field near the Ganga Barrage area of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday, killing both the pilot and co-pilot. The tragic incident has triggered an investigation by aviation authorities, with the exact cause of the crash yet to be established.
The accident took place on Thursday, August 27, when a training aircraft operated by Kanpur-based Garg Aviation crashed in a field close to the banks of the Ganga. The aircraft came down in the Ganga Barrage area, prompting panic among residents in nearby localities.
According to police officials, both people on board were critically injured in the crash. Local residents rushed towards the site after the aircraft went down and helped in taking the injured occupants to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save them, both subsequently succumbed to their injuries.

Pilot Had Over 3,000 Flying Hours
Police said the pilot had accumulated more than 3,000 hours of flying experience and was a resident of Gujarat. The co-pilot was from Karnataka. Authorities had not immediately released their names as officials continued the process of formally identifying the victims and notifying their families.
