NEW DELHI: In a significant development following the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) nationwide “Sansad Chalo” campaign, a delegation of the organisation met Union Minister and BJP National President JP Nadda in New Delhi on Monday and submitted a detailed letter outlining its demands. The meeting came after hours of protests in the national capital and is being viewed as the first formal engagement between the Centre and the protest movement.
The delegation urged the government to address issues related to examination reforms, transparency in recruitment processes, student welfare and accountability in the education system. CJP leaders described the meeting as constructive and expressed hope that the government would seriously examine their concerns.
Delegation Hands Over Charter of Demands
The CJP representatives presented a written memorandum to JP Nadda, highlighting what they described as long-standing concerns affecting students and job aspirants across the country. The letter reportedly called for stronger safeguards against examination irregularities, greater transparency in competitive recruitment, and institutional reforms to restore public confidence in the education system.
The delegation said the memorandum also stressed the need for time-bound action on issues raised by students and youth organisations over the past several months.
According to CJP leaders, the purpose of the meeting was not merely to submit a list of demands but to initiate meaningful dialogue with the government and seek practical solutions.
JP Nadda Assures Delegation of Consideration
During the meeting, JP Nadda received the memorandum and assured the delegation that their concerns would be conveyed to the appropriate authorities for examination. The meeting took place after thousands of CJP supporters gathered in Delhi under the “Sansad Chalo” campaign to press for reforms. The demonstration drew participants from several states, including students, job aspirants and civil society members.
Security arrangements remained tight across central Delhi as police restricted movement towards Parliament during the Monsoon Session. Protesters attempted to march towards Parliament, resulting in confrontations at several barricaded locations.
Despite the tense atmosphere outside, the meeting between the delegation and JP Nadda provided a diplomatic channel for discussions and reduced the possibility of further escalation.
Focus on Education and Student Concerns
CJP leaders said their campaign is centred on the interests of students and young job seekers who have been affected by repeated examination controversies and recruitment delays.
The memorandum reportedly called for reforms aimed at ensuring fair examinations, transparent evaluation systems, timely recruitment and greater accountability from institutions responsible for conducting competitive tests.

Party leaders said ending the fast would allow the organisation to focus on dialogue with the government while continuing its campaign through democratic means.
According to the delegation, the priority now is to ensure that the concerns raised in the memorandum receive serious consideration from the concerned ministries.
The leaders said sustained engagement with policymakers would be more effective in achieving long-term reforms than prolonged confrontation.

The CJP delegation has said it will wait for the government’s response to the memorandum before announcing its next course of action. If the demands are addressed through policy discussions, the organisation believes it could mark an important step toward resolving issues that have been repeatedly raised by students and youth groups.
