BENGALURU: A hoax bomb threat aboard an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad prompted a major security operation at Kempegowda International Airport, leading authorities to register a First Information Report (FIR) and launch an investigation to identify those responsible for the false alarm. The incident caused temporary disruption to flight operations but ended without any danger to passengers or crew after security agencies confirmed that the aircraft was safe.
According to police officials, the incident occurred on Thursday evening shortly before the scheduled departure of IndiGo flight 6E-6423 from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad. The aircraft was preparing for take-off when a crew member reportedly discovered a handwritten message inside one of the aircraft’s lavatories indicating the presence of a bomb. The alarming note immediately activated emergency security protocols at the airport.
Aircraft Subjected to Comprehensive Security Checks
Following the discovery of the note, the flight crew informed airport authorities, who swiftly alerted security agencies. The aircraft was moved for detailed inspection as bomb detection teams, airport security personnel, and law enforcement officers carried out an exhaustive search.

Security teams thoroughly examined the cabin, baggage compartments, cargo hold, and other sections of the aircraft.
