NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the admit cards for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination, scheduled to take place on June 21, 2026. According to available updates, more than four lakh candidates have already downloaded their hall tickets, although some students have reported technical issues while accessing the official portal.

The re-examination has been arranged following allegations of question paper leaks and irregularities that surfaced after the original examination was conducted on May 3, 2026. Authorities have introduced several additional security measures to ensure transparency and restore confidence in the country’s largest medical entrance examination.

This year, approximately 22,75,011 students registered for NEET UG 2026, while 22,05,035 candidates appeared in the original examination held in May. Students can download their admit cards from the official website by entering their application number, date of birth or password, and the security captcha.

The examination will be conducted in the afternoon session from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM. The extra 15 minutes have been allocated to complete OMR sheet formalities and verification procedures inside the examination hall.

Officials have advised students to verify every detail mentioned on their admit cards. Important information includes the candidate’s name, application number, examination centre address, reporting time, and exam instructions. In case of any discrepancy, candidates should immediately contact NTA’s helpline for corrections.

The NTA had earlier released the city intimation slips on June 7, 2026, allowing candidates to identify their examination cities before the issuance of admit cards on June 14.

Security arrangements have been significantly strengthened this year. NTA Director General Abhishek Singh announced that the Indian Air Force (IAF) will assist in transporting question papers to examination centres to prevent any possibility of tampering or unauthorized access.

The announcement was made during a virtual review meeting with state officials overseeing examination preparations. Authorities across multiple states have been instructed to increase surveillance and deploy additional personnel for smooth conduct of the examination.

Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continues its probe into the alleged paper leak case that led to the cancellation of the earlier examination.

In a related development, one of the accused individuals in the paper leak investigation has approached a Delhi court seeking interim bail to appear for the upcoming re-test.

State administrations have also begun extensive preparations. In Telangana alone, nearly 73,000 students are expected to appear at 208 examination centres spread across 24 cities.

Candidates have been strongly advised to visit their examination centres a few days before the exam date to familiarize themselves with the route and avoid last-minute confusion.

Strict rules regarding prohibited items will remain in force. Students will not be allowed to carry mobile phones, smartwatches, Bluetooth devices, electronic gadgets, calculators, wallets, pouches, or any stationery items brought from home. Bringing written material, notes, or food items inside the examination hall is also prohibited.

Only transparent water bottles will be permitted.

Documents Mandatory on Exam Day

Candidates Must Carry the Following Documents:

Printed copy of the NEET UG 2026 re-exam admit card.

Original valid photo identification (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Driving Licence, or Passport).

One passport-sized photograph identical to the image uploaded during registration.

Failure to carry these documents may result in denial of entry into the examination centre.

Education experts have advised students to avoid relying on social media rumours and instead depend only on official notifications issued by NTA.

The re-examination is being closely monitored nationwide due to the significance of NEET UG, which serves as the gateway for admission to undergraduate medical courses across India.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to conducting a fair, secure, and transparent examination process so that deserving candidates receive equal opportunity.
