India is all set to host Bharat Tex 2026, the country’s largest international textiles exhibition, beginning on July 14 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The four-day event, which will continue until July 17, is expected to bring together thousands of exhibitors, global buyers, policymakers, investors, and industry leaders under one roof, highlighting India’s growing influence in the global textile and apparel sector.
Organised by the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, a consortium of Textile Export Promotion Councils and industry associations with the support of the Ministry of Textiles, Bharat Tex 2026 is expected to become one of the world’s largest platforms dedicated to textiles, apparel, sustainability, technology, and international trade.
The event reflects India’s broader vision of strengthening its textile industry through innovation, investment, and global collaboration while promoting the country’s manufacturing capabilities to international markets.
Inspired by PM Modi’s 5F Vision
Bharat Tex 2026 is inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 5F Vision—Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign. The initiative seeks to create a seamless value chain that supports farmers, manufacturers, exporters, designers, and global buyers.
Over the years, Bharat Tex has evolved into a significant platform where businesses explore sourcing opportunities, governments discuss policy, investors identify new projects, and industry stakeholders collaborate on innovation and sustainability.
Speaking ahead of the event, Naren Goenka, Chairman of the Bharat Tex Trade Federation, described the upcoming edition as the most ambitious so far. He said the event demonstrates the successful collaboration between the Ministry of Textiles, export promotion councils, and industry associations in building a globally recognised textile platform.
Thousands of Buyers and Exhibitors Expected
This year’s edition is expected to witness participation from more than 7,000 buyers, over 1.3 lakh trade visitors, and 1,600 exhibitors showcasing products across the complete textile value chain.

The exhibition will spread across nearly 1.6 million square feet and display more than 20,000 textile products, covering fibres, yarns, fabrics, apparel, fashion, home textiles, technical textiles, machinery, and allied industries.
India’s major textile manufacturing clusters, including Tirupur, Ichalkaranji, and Ahmedabad, will also be prominently represented during the event.
International exhibitors from 14 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Portugal, Spain, South Korea, South Africa, Nepal, and New Zealand, are expected to participate alongside institutional representatives from the United Nations and the European Union.
Major Indian textile companies such as Trident, Vardhman Textiles, RSWM, Arvind, Shahi Exports, PDS Limited, Colorjet, and Sattva will also showcase their capabilities.
Strong Participation from States
Government participation will play a key role during Bharat Tex 2026. Eight states—Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu—will participate as sponsor states.

Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Manipur, Rajasthan, and West Bengal will join as exhibiting states, highlighting their textile ecosystems, investment opportunities, and industrial strengths.
Dedicated State Investor Connect Sessions will allow participating states to present investment-friendly policies, industrial infrastructure, PM MITRA park opportunities, and manufacturing incentives before domestic and international investors.
Special sessions will also focus on PM MITRA developments in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.
Business Meetings and MoUs to Drive Investments
Business engagement remains one of the biggest attractions of Bharat Tex 2026.
According to organisers, the event is expected to facilitate over 4,000 curated business-to-business (B2B) meetings, more than 100 business-to-government (B2G) interactions, and the signing of over 30 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
These agreements are expected to cover trade expansion, technology transfer, sustainability initiatives, investment projects, and international market access.
Co-Chairman Bhadresh Dodhia said the event has been designed to convert business discussions into real commercial partnerships by enabling immediate sourcing decisions, investment commitments, and long-term collaborations.
International Delegations to Strengthen Trade
Bharat Tex 2026 will also serve as an important diplomatic and business platform.
The event is expected to host more than 350 speakers from over 20 countries, including government officials, policymakers, CEOs, industry experts, and sustainability leaders.
Ministerial delegations from countries including New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Cambodia, and Brunei have expressed interest in attending the event.
Business delegations from the United States, Japan, United Kingdom, Spain, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, UAE, Thailand, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and several other countries are also expected.
Several bilateral discussions have been planned, including sessions on the India-US cotton partnership, India-New Zealand wool ecosystem, India-UK Free Trade Agreement opportunities, cooperation with Japanese textile companies, and textile trade with Russia.
Knowledge Sessions to Promote Innovation
Apart from business networking, Bharat Tex 2026 will feature an extensive knowledge programme.
More than 100 sessions have been scheduled, including 39 panel discussions, 16 roundtable conferences, 37 masterclasses, and eight state-focused sessions, supported by over 50 knowledge partners.
The discussions will cover topics such as sustainability, Industry 5.0, technical textiles, innovation, fashion, exports, investment, policy reforms, and global sourcing.
The sessions are expected to benefit exporters, MSMEs, startups, manufacturers, designers, and entrepreneurs seeking to expand into international markets.
Sustainability and Digital Technology in Focus
Environmental responsibility will remain a central theme throughout the exhibition.
The CITI Textile Sustainability Awards 2026 will recognise organisations for excellence in areas such as resource efficiency, energy conservation, circular economy, sustainable materials, responsible business practices, social responsibility, and industry collaboration.
To improve the visitor experience, organisers have introduced digital business tools, including a dedicated mobile application and a pre-fair directory.
These platforms will offer AI-powered assistance, QR-based lead generation, exhibitor search, meeting scheduling, event navigation, digital badge access, and buyer-seller matchmaking, making business interactions more efficient and technology-driven.
India Looks to Strengthen Global Textile Leadership
As Bharat Tex 2026 opens its doors, the event is expected to reinforce India’s ambition of becoming a global hub for textile manufacturing, sustainable production, and innovation.
By bringing together governments, exporters, manufacturers, investors, technology providers, and international buyers, the exhibition aims to create new business opportunities, deepen global partnerships, and strengthen India’s position in global textile value chains while supporting long-term economic growth.
