Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday met the Bharatiya Janata Party’s newly appointed national office-bearers at the party headquarters in New Delhi, marking the first interaction between the Prime Minister and the revamped organisational team headed by BJP president Nitin Nabin.
The meeting came just days after Nabin unveiled the BJP’s new 65-member national team on August 17. The reshuffle has brought several new faces into key organisational positions while retaining experienced leaders, signalling an effort to combine organisational continuity with fresh energy ahead of the next electoral cycle.
PM Modi Holds First Interaction With New BJP Team
PM Modi reached the BJP headquarters on Saturday evening, where he was welcomed by Nitin Nabin and other senior party leaders. The Prime Minister also posed for a group photograph with the newly appointed office-bearers.
Following the meeting, Modi described organisational gatherings as opportunities for exchanging new ideas and perspectives. He said such interactions were aimed at strengthening the party and deepening its connection with people.
The meeting assumes significance as the BJP begins implementing the organisational changes announced earlier this week. The new team is expected to play a central role in expanding the party’s grassroots network, improving communication and preparing the organisation for upcoming political challenges.
Nitin Nabin’s 65-Member Team Takes Charge
The BJP announced a 65-member national team under Nitin Nabin’s leadership on August 17. According to reports, 51 members of the new team are new faces, while several experienced leaders have retained important responsibilities.
The new structure includes prominent names such as Smriti Irani, Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, Biplab Kumar Deb, Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi and Sanjay Bhatia.
Union Minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed the party’s national treasurer, while BL Santhosh continues as national general secretary (Organisation), an influential organisational position linking the BJP’s political structure with its broader ideological network.
The new team also gives significant attention to women and minority representation, with 10 women and six leaders from minority communities included among the national office-bearers.
2027 Assembly Elections Become Major Focus
The BJP’s organisational activity comes at a crucial political juncture. The party is preparing for Assembly elections expected in several states in 2027, making organisational mobilisation a major priority.
The newly appointed office-bearers are expected to work closely with state units, strengthen coordination with grassroots workers and identify issues that resonate with voters.
The party’s first organisational meetings under Nabin are also focusing on defining responsibilities, improving communication and ensuring greater coordination between the national leadership and state-level organisations.
The BJP is simultaneously looking beyond the immediate Assembly contests, with preparations for the 2029 Lok Sabha elections also forming part of its longer-term organisational strategy.
BJP Plans Nationwide ‘Modi at 25’ Programme
Another important agenda item is the proposed nationwide programme to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public life.
Modi entered public office as Gujarat Chief Minister on October 7, 2001. He subsequently became Prime Minister in 2014 and has remained in office since then. The BJP is planning programmes across the country to mark the milestone and highlight his political journey and public service.
The newly appointed national office-bearers are expected to help coordinate these programmes and ensure their reach across different states and organisational levels.
Focus on Grassroots Outreach and Digital Communication
The BJP’s new organisational blueprint also places emphasis on strengthening its connection with ordinary citizens and party workers.
The new office-bearers are expected to maintain regular interaction with workers, understand public concerns and communicate government initiatives more effectively. Media engagement and social media activity are also expected to form an important part of their responsibilities.
The emphasis on digital communication comes at a time when political parties are increasingly relying on social media to reach younger voters and shape public narratives.

Saturday’s meeting effectively marked the beginning of the new BJP national team’s operational phase. With PM Modi’s interaction providing an early signal of the leadership’s expectations, the new office-bearers now face the task of translating the organisational reshuffle into stronger ground-level mobilisation.
The BJP’s immediate focus is expected to remain on the 2027 Assembly elections, youth outreach, grassroots engagement and nationwide programmes marking Modi’s 25 years in public life. At the same time, the party is positioning its organisation for the larger 2029 Lok Sabha battle.
The meeting between Modi and Nabin’s new team therefore represents more than a formal introduction. It marks the BJP’s effort to inject fresh leadership into its national organisation while maintaining experienced hands at crucial positions—and to build an energetic, election-ready structure for the political battles ahead.
